Well, it’s official…we got the green light to go ahead and move into our new house. Hooray! I am so excited to finally be in there. BUT, I have to admit, while I am excited about being able to put things away at the new house and getting everything organized, I am NOT excited about the [...]

Happy Easter Everyone
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! The big question of our day was whether the Easter Bunny is a boy or a girl. Any thoughts? The girls left a note for the bunny in question, but the reply was this: “I am most definitely a………..BUNNY! That sly rabbit.
Anyway the Easter Bunny brought lots of [...]

Thought for the Day
As I was walking this morning, I listened to a talk by Bishop Richard C. Edgley from last October’s conference called “Enduring Together.” It really struck a chord with me, as I have been pondering on this topic lately. We’ve had many in our ward who have been struggling, and my heart goes out to [...]

Look What’s New!
At long last our driveway has been poured! It seems that this long process is drawing to a close. They need to pour the deck (probably Friday) and install the deck railing (next week) and then we will be ready for our final inspection. We’re thinking we may move the last weekend in March–hallelujah!

Waiting on the World to Change
Or at least the weather…we are trying to get our driveway poured so we can move into our new house. Unfortunately, while the weather was sunny and fairly nice all this last week, the excavator who was coming to grade for us was busy elsewhere. Well, he graded yesterday, but look at our weather today!
I [...]

Proud to Be An American
Alex’s fifth grade had a patriotic program on Thursday evening. They sang and danced and taught us all about our amazing country. My friend Natilie has already blogged about this here, and I have to agree with her about how touching it was when the students sang each of the theme songs for the different [...]

The Glory of the Assist
So Dallin played three basketball games in three days this week (he’s on the far right of this picture). He is quite a bit taller than most of the other boys his age, and therefore has quite an advantage over them in rebounding and putting the ball back up–therefore, he usually scores quite a few [...]

A Philosophical Moment
For my birthday last year, Caroline gave me a great book called Life Artist: Scrapbooking Life’s Journey by Ali Edwards. I love this book (you can see it here). I love Ali’s approach to scrapbooking…that you should scrapbook everyday moments in your life, and not just events. She really captures the emotions and feelings of [...]

Wanted: VACATION!
Something about this time of the year makes me long for a vacation. It never fails. Right around March, I just get really tired of cold weather, kids’ homework, housecleaning, schedules, etc. etc. I start thinking about how nice it would be to get away from it all and just relax–no schedules, no commitments. Although I realize that you [...]

Roll Recipe
I had a request from Christina for my roll recipe, so here it is, along with a couple of pictures to help illustrate the parts I have a hard time explaining. Thanks to my friend Stacey for sharing this recipe and to Kim for sharing the recipe with Stacey…
1) In a small bowl, sprinkle 4 [...]
